MD Group

The MD Group is a brand representing 3 individual companies working together to provide latent defects insurance (more commonly known as a structural warranty), Building Control and other insurance schemes to support the construction industry across the UK and in Europe.

A Managing General Agent (MGA) backed by a panel of ‘A’ rated insurers, including HSB, AXA and certain underwriters at Lloyd's, which provides latent defects insurance. MD is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

This is our Surveying Network where the team in MDWIS is responsible for undertaking warranty inspections and providing technical guidance and training to manage construction risk for all sites covered by our insurance schemes.

A registered Approved Inspector, MDWSS is responsible for undertaking Building Control design checks and specific inspections to monitor compliance with Building Regulations.

We offer a range of warranty schemes to support the construction needs of Developers, House Builders and Contractors, from self build to complex high rise.

Latent defects insurance is a 10 or 12 year long tail policy, which insures the structure of a newly built home or commercial property against latent defects which could not have been reasonably detected during the build period by site inspections undertaken by a qualified building surveyor. These can be caused by a defect in the design, workmanship or materials used.

Our History

The award winning MD Group has provided latent defects insurance since 1997. Our historic UK head office building is uniquely situated in the Wirral docklands overlooking the iconic Liverpool skyline.
